I decided today that instead of just including the (fairly long) blog entries that I've done until now, I might also include some "mini" blog posts.
In this mini blog entry, I note that Le Monde reported today that racism is on the rise in Europe as a result of the economic crisis. I thought this was unsurprising. (Link is to article in French)
It also said something which (I thought) was a bit more surprising - it was critical of governments who introduced islamophobic laws such as the Swiss (minarets) or the French (the veil) (You can see this in paragraph 7 of page 9 of this report, or paragraph 25 of page 18 in the same report)
Well done to them for being courageous enough to do this. What a shame it will probably have no effect whatsoever.
